Does everything have to be registered?

Even in 2022, the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO) are not a closed set of rules. It grants each inspector at the DEKRA, the TÜV or other test centers a certain scope for decision-making. If even open and objective arguments do not help, there is always the possibility to present the motorcycle with the new rear frame at another test center. this can lead to the expiration of the operating license.

So if you are planning a conversion on your motorcycle, be sure to find out in advance which documents and certificates you need for this.

Racing rear conversion without stress

Quality is an important selection criterion for tuning. Furthermore, the measures can greatly affect the safety of the series vehicle and it may be necessary to make further adjustments.

If an expert opinion is included in the scope of delivery, you can see from it which special features may have to be observed and whether an acceptance of your modifications is required. This is how you obtain the operating permit for your machine.

If you take the vehicle to a test center, don't forget to bring along the vehicle registration document, the vehicle title or the registration certificate, as well as the papers relating to the modified parts. These are important documents for the inspectors.
