New engine covers for clutch and LiMa

To connect the motorcycle engine with the transmission, the clutch comes into play. It ensures that the power is optimally dosed and delivered to the rear wheel without loss. It is a wearing part and requires regular maintenance. But beware: poorly executed work can lead to consequential damage to the motorcycle and, in the worst case, even to a fall. Therefore, not only the right tools are essential, but also the utmost care must not be lacking in the measures.

To loosen the engine cover, remove the cover screws step by step. A Vario hammer can be used to gently loosen the cover from its sleeves and thus from the engine housing.

Once you have removed the cover, you can service the coupling and, if necessary, replace defective, discolored or distorted components.

Finally, before placing the cover on the engine case, it is important to ensure clean sealing surfaces and a proper gasket. Be sure to pay attention to the fitting sleeves. Place the screws and screw them in by hand first. Tighten to torque according to manufacturer's instructions.

If it jams and hooks

Despite careful preparation, the disassembled component doesn't really want to go together again? Then calmness and composure are called for. A short break will help you to avoid "nervous boiling over".

If you want to disassemble the clutch, alternator or similar components on your motorcycle, you need enough space. So choose a place that is not only equipped with suitable workshop furniture, but also offers you the necessary space for the work, as well as sufficient storage facilities.

No one is able to remember everything. If you have a cell phone or a digital camera with you, you can quickly take pictures of a cable assignment, arrangement of gears or other parts that are especially put together. This makes it easier for you to rebuild afterwards.

New Racing protectors left for the LiMa

The alternator, or LiMa for short, is an essential part of power generation in the vehicle. Together with the battery, it ensures the supply of all electronic components on the motorcycle. Like the battery, the LiMa also requires regular care and maintenance.

It is often located on the left side of the engine housing, directly on the crankshaft stub. The cooling oil mist from the actual engine lubrication system also provides cooling for it. Here, too, the following applies: Before you start work, find out which alternator is installed on your bike. Check the generator according to this information.

So-called star generators have a permanent magnet rotor. By rotating the outer strator, a voltage is induced. In many cases, defects occur due to overloading of the regulator or continuous overheating.
