Handlebar end mirror - Motorcycle mirror for mounting on the handlebar end

Riding a motorcycle is not just a way of getting around. It is at the same time an attitude towards life and in some cases a very special attitude towards life. Your motorcycle is therefore more than just a machine, because it accompanies you on all your journeys. Add-on parts such as handlebar end mirrors give your bike an unmistakable style. Our goal is to offer you a high quality range that includes everything you need to give your bike the style that fits you perfectly.

Exclusive and modern - motorcycle mirrors from HIGHSIDER

The company Paaschburg & Wunderlich GmbH is located in Glinde in southern Schleswig-Holstein. The well-known brand HIGHSIDER belongs to this company. The range of mirrors is modern and of high quality. No matter whether you are looking for rear-view mirrors milled from aluminium or whether you prefer easy-care plastic, HIGHSIDER's wide range of products is suitable for choppers, naked bikes, supersporters, streetfighters and even quads. All mirrors are E-approved and have the E-mark. An additional entry in the papers is therefore not necessary. For mirrors on current motorcycles, the mirror surface must be at least 69 square centimetres. To ensure that the handlebar end mirrors, like the other models of the manufacturer, do not appear as foreign bodies, the company uses modern and innovative techniques and designs in their production. In this way, the mirror surface remains TÜV-compliant, yet the mirrors appear pleasantly small and blend harmoniously into the motorcycle design.

Retro is in - Handlebar mirror for Cafe Racer

Even though the name of these special motorcycles hardly suggests it, the so-called cafe racer in the 1960s was a series-produced motorcycle that was given a very sporty character through conversion measures. In 2019 the term will be used exclusively in the custom scene. Characteristic of modern bikes of this type is the reduction to essential elements. Typical are flat, short handlebars and also shortened and sloping benches. In the early days, it took a lot of craftsmanship to create such a custom bike from a conventional motorcycle, but numerous manufacturers such as BMW, Triumph or Ducati offer vehicles that already meet the requirements by default. Some current series models of well-known manufacturers:

  • BMW R nineT
  • Triumph Thruxton and Thruxton R
  • Moto Guzzi V7 Racer
  • Ducati Scrambler Cafe Racer

To complete the appearance of these classic bikes, we offer mirrors in our shop that you can mount hanging or upright at the handlebar ends. They are simply mounted in the existing holders. In the following we have compiled some information about the mounting.

Fitting handlebar end mirrors - tips and tricks

The mounting of the mirrors is very easy. To protect the sensitive paint parts from damage, it is useful to cover them before starting work. A conventional "painter's blanket" or similar is sufficient for this purpose. In the next step the old mirrors are removed. For this you usually need conventional tools, which should not be missing in any screwdriver garage. If there are already bar ends, they have to be removed as well. If there are rubber grips on the machine, punch a hole at the end. To accept the new handlebar ends, punch a hole in the end of the handlebar with a suitable punch. In this hole you put the new handlebar end and fix it.

During mounting, you can choose between upright or suspended mounting of the mirrors. Once you have chosen a direction, you align and fix the hole for the mirror adapters. Now the mirror arm is screwed to the adapter. Again, the final position is up to you. Please take care to tighten the screw slightly so that the mirror body, which will be mounted in the next step, is not damaged.

In principle, we recommend that all screws are initially tightened only slightly. This makes it easier for you to align and correct the mirror. Furthermore you avoid that parts can slip out of your hand. The mirrors are hinged, which makes it easier to align them correctly. Once you have aligned the handlebar mirror the way you want it, tighten all screws. You can securely close the remaining standard holder with a suitable plug. Repeat this procedure on the opposite side. The different steps can vary depending on the model. An easy to understand manual should guide you through the individual sections without any problems.

From the Superbikes mirror to the ultramodern Racing mirror

Within the EU, all motor vehicles are required to have a rear-view mirror. Motorcycles are also not exempt from this. Uniform guidelines apply with regard to size, dimensions and design. In order to avoid any problems at the registration or the next general inspection, all our motorcycle mirrors comply with the applicable guidelines and are ECE tested. Please note: If you use rear-view mirrors that do not comply with the legal requirements, their use on public roads is not permitted!

In our assortment we do not only have high-quality attachments for classic motorcycles. Sporty motorcycles, for example from Ducati, get a very own, maybe even more aggressive look with a matching Ducati mirror. In addition to the classic round mirrors you will find dynamically shaped models with corners and edges (of course all within legal limits!) for your bike.

At TecBike we place great value on high quality, product safety and durability. In our shop you will find everything you need for a legal and stylish conversion or for repair work on your bike. Let yourself be inspired for your next project now!
