High quality motorcycle electrics for a safe ride
Key in the lock, press starter and your bike comes to life. Thanks to modern motorcycle electrics this is a very simple process today. The products in our electrical category should make your life with your bike even easier and safer. Powerful batteries, the digital gear indicator or an automatic gearshift are part of our high-quality range.
More comfort and safety through modern on-board electronics
Even in the 70s, the starting process could drive many a biker to despair. It was necessary to adjust the choke with the little lever exactly according to the outside temperature. The real trick, however, consisted in supplying the right amount of air and fuel at the right moment with the right turn of the gas tap, the kick starter was kicked through. If the "goat" didn't want to, the whole thing could degenerate into a power-sapping affair. Today, electric starters, numerous sensors and lightning-fast computer electronics do the job. From the first rotation on, perfect starting behaviour and optimal concentricity are possible.
A look behind the scenes - electrical motorcycle parts for the charging system
The heart of the charging system is the alternator. It is supplemented by a rectifier and the charge regulator. This system supplies all electrical components on board with power. At the same time it has to charge the motorcycle battery. This is done as independently as possible of the load from the electrical consumers and the engine speed. For this purpose, the charging voltage is regulated to a constant value of 14 volts and the battery operates in the so-called float mode. If there is an excess of power from the alternator, it charges the storage battery with a constant voltage. If the demand for electrical power exceeds the current supplied by the alternator, the battery is discharged.
Charging and care of motorcycle battery
Usually the power storage unit is hidden under the fairing or the seat and does its job unseen. Therefore, the battery is usually given little attention. This works until it collapses. Electrically nothing works anymore then. But you can avoid this moment and spoil your motorcycle battery with appropriate care and maintenance.
Especially critical is the starting procedure. The battery must be able to handle it on its own. The electric starter, ignition, injection and the technical system are all power hungry. Younger machines are equipped with a 12-volt electrical system. Two-wheeled veterans, however, have one with 6 volts.
In order to keep the motorcycle battery in good condition during the winter break, we recommend that you remove it when the two-wheeler is mothballed, charge it completely and store it in a dry place at a temperature of about 10°C. This applies even if your vehicle is outside in winter. If the moped is allowed to hibernate in a temperature-controlled room (above 10°C), the storage tank can remain in the vehicle. Permanent consumers such as an anti-theft alarm system or the like are switched off. If this is not possible, the battery cables should be disconnected. The battery also requires appropriate care when installed. Practical helpers are the battery guard or a battery guard. The guard protects the battery from undervoltage and damaging deep discharge. It can be used universally with all lead-based batteries. A Battery Guard also serves for battery monitoring. Modern variants allow the monitoring of several vehicles and, depending on the model, monitoring via Bluetooth. You can check the battery via an app with charge status display.
Not only for motorcycle racing - add-on and spare parts for motorcycles
Motorcycle parts like the rev counter or a quickshifter show their strength not only in racing. The systems also support you in normal road traffic. The quickshifter was originally developed for kart and motorcycle racing. With this system it is possible to change gears during acceleration at full load. A clutch actuation is not necessary. So that you know at any time in which gear you are riding, you will find the digital gear indicator from HealTech for the different motorcycle brands in our shop. The label belongs to TechMoto with headquarters in Leipzig. It offers innovative products around the bike. In addition to the gear indicator, the product range includes shift automats or the shift light.
Speedohealer speedo converter from HealTech for correcting speedo deviations Due
to the manufacturing process, modern motorcycles can have a speedo deviation of up to 10%. Even slight changes to the chain drive can increase this deviation. The consequence: an unintentionally higher mileage is displayed. The Speedohealer speedo converter is a very simple and practical method to calibrate the speedometer and the mileage correctly again. It is universally suitable for all motorcycles without a speedometer cable. Thanks to plug-n-go kits available for most bikes, installation takes only a few minutes.
Motorcycle racing is fast and furious. It's good to know that you can help your bike get full power in all gears with a throttle reduction module. The module has no road approval. Practical: The serial condition can be restored at any time. Whether for racing or for a relaxed ride - with the high-quality add-on and spare parts, a standard motorcycle becomes your dream bike.
