Motorcycle valve caps - angle valves with & without valve covers

The wheels are the legs of your motorcycle, the tires its shoes. If the air pressure and tread depth are right, you can safely master curves even at higher speeds. The use of the correct valves is therefore vital. In the TecBike online store you can expect a versatile selection of angle valves, with and without valve covers. These valves not only look very stylish, they also keep the air better in the tire.

You are constantly under pressure

Sometimes it can be helpful to just hold your breath. In this case: regularly check the air pressure in the tires of your motorcycle. Too high a pressure has a negative effect on riding comfort. At the same time, the tires do not adhere as well to the asphalt. If, on the other hand, the pressure is too low, this has an unpleasant effect on road holding. With higher loads from luggage and pillion passengers, the tires can even run hot and suffer damage.

Long and straight valves can make this work a real challenge. You have to squeeze your fingers and the testing and measuring device between the spokes and the brake discs.

This is much easier and much more comfortable with so-called angle valves. Their designation gives you an idea of what they are. Unlike classic tire valves, their necks are not straight, but angled 90 degrees to the side. This makes checking the tire pressure a real piece of cake: Simply push on the attachment of the test and measuring device from the side - measure, done. It's a clean and uncomplicated affair.

More protection against pressure loss

Especially at high speeds, straight valves with long valve cores can quickly run out of air. The reason for this is the mass of the moving plunger. If you are traveling at high speeds, its centrifugal force can become so great that the air escapes from the tire.

Our tips

  • Use angle valves. This keeps the air in the tire. These valves are available in different colors, so you can set subtle color accents.
  • Pay attention to the valve caps. They should have a perfect rubber seal. Steel caps are much stronger than rubber caps and will not tear if screwed on too tightly.
  • For tubeless tires: Never use car valves.
  • Check the tire pressure regularly despite the bent metal valves.
